Take a High Sea Adventure

Hop aboard a cruise to Alaska. This is the way to see the mountains, inlets, and wild birds and animals that reside in this part of the world. The cruise season is only five months long running from May to September. Since it is a short season, you may have to book a good bit in advance. The cruises are really in demand and somewhat expensive. However it is worth the cost to discover this beautiful area. Cruise lovers say Alaska ranks at the top of the list for a great sightseeing adventure.

You can save money by going to Miami to board or even San Francisco or Los Angeles. The trip costs less than going to Vancouver or Seattle to embark on your sea adventure. Depending upon which cruise line you choose, the trips are normally either a large or small cruise. Some of the larger ships carry anywhere from 700 to 3000 passengers. The smaller may have 200 or it may have less than 20. If you are planning to spend most of your time seeing the scenery, a small cruise might be your best bet.

Some cruise lines offer a lounge that is great for seeing everything this part of the world has to offer. The old belief of having to be a skilled woodsman to brave the Alaska country takes on a new meaning with the luxury these cruise lines provide. Heated pools, balconies, and beautiful cabins will change your mind about the whole concept of an Alaskan vacation.

If you are looking for a unique experience, the smaller cruise ship might be right up your alley. Instead of the standard areas to explore, these cruise ships visit out of the way areas of Alaska that will be a memory to cherish. Your own private veranda will make viewing Alaska with a special friend or spouse not only a scenic trip; it could also be a romantic one.

This would truly be a marvelous honeymoon trip. If an out of the ordinary trip is what you are looking for, the Alaska coastline can offer some of the most exotic sight seeing you will ever experience. If you would like to just get away from the hustle and bustle for a while, this is another great reason to take a cruise to Alaska.

Most cruises are seven day however there are some that offer a fourteen day if you desire a longer vacation cruise. If you choose to take a cruise on one of the ships that carry fewer people, you can enjoy a visit to the Misty Fjords National Monument. This remote area of wilderness is inhabited only by bears-black and brown-mountain goats, wolves, and deer. Fish abound in this area and this wild, back to nature area is perfect for sight seeing no matter what age you are.

This is just one example of the many exciting places you can visit on your Alaskan vacation. Many more are just as interesting. As a matter of fact, this may be your first Alaskan cruise but most likely will not be your last as soon as you see how much fun it is.
